Night Chocolate Tour

This activity , offered with the enchantment of nighttime, lasting 1 hour and 30 minutes, allows you to learn and discover the secrets and marvels of one of the favorite foods of humankind: chocolate - a crop also compatible with biodiversity. As a plant originating in Mesoamerica, it has an extraordinarily rich history: it was one of the most important products of the Maya and Aztec cultures, as well as other Central American cultures.

The discovery of America carried chocolate to Europe, transforming it into the product we know today. As one example of its importance, during the colonial era in our country, with a lack of circulation of coins of the Spanish Crown it constituted our currency as the medium through which our ancestors could acquire goods.

The Tour includes a short hike to the rancho; once there one of our guides demonstrates how this product originally developed. The natural and cultural history of the Cacao tree is presented in a small lighted plantation, which allows you to appreciate all the botanical details of the plant. At this same site, you will learn the manufacturing process which transforms the cacao into chocolate (collection, fermentation, drying), and there you may enjoy a chocolate drink and different types of chocolates made with organic chocolate.

Dare with us to flavor the night with chocolate!
